why would you want to do that.

stuck in mud have to get out.

hella hella cold out side in the snow have to get out.

not my idea of a good ride.

I like to push the button inside and be on my way and reverse to get out of 4x4.

Its ok...The first time you get stuck in the mud, your Auto hubs wont do crap b/c you have to roll forward 9 yards (or thats with my nissan 4X4 I dont know the length on the bronco) and youll be walking in the mud and in the cold. And if you look up and down the forum you can see all the people that have had failures with there auto hubs, b/c they arent worth crap unless you baby them...Now me....I would like to twist the hubs and know that my truck will have 4 tires spinnin....

I agree. Auto hubs suck. Manual hubs are way stronger and more reliable. I just tore my front passenger side hub out because it wouldn't stop making grinding noises. When I took it out my bearing was shot. I can't stand push button four-wheel drive. As soon as I get enough money I'm going to put a live axle and manual hubs( and a new transfer case). If you are to lazy to get out of your bronco, walk five feet, turn your hub and get back in your truck, you shouldn't be off-roading.

89 xlt with no power ( for now )!

Hubs installed today, they work great! I ended up not needing the conversion kit on my 90 XLT, it's up on eBay now for 25 bucks.

PS - If anyone needs the conversion kit I am asking $24.95 plus shipping for it on eBay, but I will ship it for free for people on this board. My 90 XLT didn't need the conversion kit, some years do and some don't (but don't ask me which because I don't know!) Thanks

PPS - after I installed the hubs I took the truck out to where I got stuck and had to call a tow truck because my autolockers. Not this time! I'll take having to get out and twist a ****, and know I'm 4-wheeling, to having to get pulled out any day...
