I have no rear lights at all. I have Front lights. I checked power, and there is nothing back there. They had a elec. Brake Control installed, and there are a bunch of wires in back that are scotch locked. I was wondering could it be the Turn signal switch, since power for those lights run through that, or could it just be some bad connections?
The First Thing I Would Do Is Cut All The Scotch Locks Out. Solder In Some Bare Butt Connectors. There Is A Good Chance That Will Fix Your Problem. If It Dont, Try Plobing The Wires Where They Come Out Of The Cab.
Rule # 1 of wiring - Scotch locks have no place on the outside of a vehicle. I work on alot of stuff thats out in the elements. As soon as I see those anywhere I replace them with either solder and heatshrink, or bare butt (hehe) connectors and heat shrink. Scotch locks do not protect against moisture, then it's just a matter of time.

Those sorry things didn't even work on my Dana Speed Control I installed in '76.
That thing would only work about half the time. :/
First time i ever saw the things and wish I'd never seen the things. :)
I was a RR signalape I shoulda knowed better. :(
Whatchu doing outside? :)
Finally did it right about 15 years ago, cut those 3M things out and shortened the wires and staked-on insulated butt connectors and the speed control ain't even burped since. :)
