re&re turbo?

to put in a feul pump?..it leaks..and i tightened all the loose clamps and big nut..
book says i have to remove the turbo...looks like it will come out to me with taking it out..

remove turbo on calif. model only, careful do not drop tappet good luck

turbo does not have to be removed,it just makes it easier to start the big fuel line nut.you can do it without removing turbo.just have to be careful when pulling fuel pump out not to drop the pushrod in engine.

thanks guys...any sugestions on where the best deal on a fuel pump might be?

Online is cheaper by far, even check out your local International dealer. Most International dealers are cheaper then factory ford. Good luck!

Napa is expensive, try auto value if there is one near by.

Now the only thing I change, is I use a 1 1/4" socket to get the banjo bolt off and not the wrench. I also used a universal to spin the socket and banjo bolt (cuz there is fuel that gets on it and it is slick/hard to spin) after I broke it loose. The socket I used is a craftsman 1 1/4" with a 1/2" drive. Made getting into that tight spot easier. Good luck and let us know if you need any more help.

alrite guys...also i hear or read last year i should jog the starter to pop the pump up to keep the tappet/pushrod in its original place rite?..
