therfore, I can assume the reason the OEM set-up not going to work on a 4wd truck is because of the lack of the front crossmember...this , I guess leaves us back with the original choices of:
1. L&l---lot's of problems reported with the mounts breaking but very easy to install.
2. Performance unlimited...supposidly much better but have to modify the existing tower, no biggie for a torch and grinder.
3. North Country which I do not know much about except that they cost $225.oo a pair but supposidly will solve fan shroud line up issues.
Ball's in your court guys...anything I've missed?

I changed it myself at www.spellcheck.com

I know YOU aren't yelling...I mean it as perceived by many.

The OP made a thread at project bronco where they have a tech article on this swap

well, from what I can tell North Country Specilaities seem to be the way rto go from all those that have used them.

I am replacing my 390 with a 460 presently and used direct bolt up mounts from Summit Racing, around $60.00 and they worked great, using the rubber mounts from a 4X2 truck. You can see pic's in my gallery, need more E-Mail me. cpbrady@zoominternet.net

Have a great day

L&L's do have a lifetime warrenty. So who cares if they were to break once in a while ? But I doubt they ever will unless you have some big stroker motor.

If you dont mind a solid motor mount you can take the 460 engine side and and cut off the rubber and then take 351 0r 400 frame side and cut off the rubber and bolt the 460 side to the motor and the m side to the frame.. lower the motor in and tack the two mounts. there should only be about 3/4 of an inch between the twoand remove and weld solid .you should 3sides on the mount to weld good luck.
