Shackle Brackets. I just changed mine (F150 '96 4X2). Brackets $21 each at local Ford dealer. I replaced the shackles too (less than $20 each including tax).

I believe problem was/is poor metal/poor perp and paint. The frame they mount to is not rusted nearly as bad (different metal, better paint)!!!

i just replaced some on my dads 96 2wd, not an easy thing to do. just a tip, save your back and remove the bed, its alot easyer to get to them.

Say what?? It would take longer and be more work just to remove the bed than it is to do the whole hanger job. I can usually get them done in an hour (per side). Granted, that's on a lift, but on the ground shouldn't take that much longer unless you're using a hacksaw and ramps.

well i had to replace the hanger bracket that was rivited to the frame also. only takes about ten to remove the bed. i thought it was easyer , just my opinion

That's what i'm talking about, the hanger brackets that are riveted. I can't see any possible way taking the bed off the truck is less work than just doing them with it on, but to each his own I guess.
