Thanks for everyone's input.
I just saw a set of lowering beams @ williamsport.craigslist.org a couple days ago pretty cheap.

Not sure if they are still there or not.

Edit: just found the original post but can't paste it here for some reason. See next post.

If you want 5" you really should consider the CV. With exception of wheels & tires the swap is comparable money wise. You will have more in the beams than just the cost of the beams. The CV can be done for roughly $750. All depends on what you pay for a CV IFS. I paid $250 for mine. Now with the link Area351 posted to the used beams that lowers the cost of doing beams considerably so it may be worth looking into. Again though if you plan on modifying the beams ...

If you want to spend some serious money you can always go MII variant. Labor to do the CV swap I would call only slightly more than swapping beams with minor fab work. Not trying to talk you into it but for what you desire it is a very inexpensive option full of benefits. I was not aware Eaton was now offering 2" drop with springs. When I bought mine 1 1/2" was the most you could get. I have heard a rumor Fatman will be offering 2" drop spindles for the CV here in the future but have no verification from Fatman on that.

Search for the AIM/DJM lowering thread and pics are in there.

His rig wears 215/70-15s and 276-60-15s.

The Tailgate is looking sweet . did you have to modify the steering column for the engine install? if so how did you do it?
looking forward to more updates.

It has an Ididit column with a power rack, the column is in the factory position. The biggest challenge now will be building the left header, one of the tubes may have to go around the steering shaft.
