i pulled the bed off today to remove the rear tank and just use the front.the front tank does tell me how much fuel is in it and the rear tank jus leaks.so i wanted to make one good tank from the two.my question is how do you remove the fuel pump n sending unit? i took the clips off ,unscrewed the one line but the other one wont come off.i have also discovered now the brake line is leaking .any ideas
The pumps are held in by locking rings. A good trick I learned is to use vise grips to grab the tab on the ring and hammer on the grips. The ring should slide and the pump will come out.
The bad news... the pumps are not interchangeable. The sending units might be, but I seem to recall those being different as well. You'll have to see if something can be rigged up.
A leaking brake line needs to be replaced... no question about it.
