Just got a $60, want to build it for offroad

i just got a 460 with a C6 trans on an '89 F-250 chassis. i want to build this into a SCORE Class 8 offroad race truck. Im looking to squeeze as much HP out of this engine as possible. How much does it produce stock? Other trucks in this class are producing up to 650 HP...what can i do to compete with them?

Thanks.

Welcome to FTE,

As to getting 650hp well it can be done of coarse but what are the rules for that class as to what you can do to the engine, stroker is an easy way to start if allowed, what heads are allowed? can you run solid roller cams, what fuel can you adn do you want to run. etc etc.

if all is fair then 650hp isn't even a challenge, I am putting 900+ out of a 460 based stroker, and building a new one looking for 1100 plus, but it ain't cheap so as Darrin said we need to know how fast you can afford to go.

not trying to steal the thread or anything, this just beats starting a new one just to ask a quick question. how much would 700-ish horse cost to build from a 68 460...i myself am lookin for a lot of bottom end.

You could accomplish 600 700 hp with 5or 6gs a stroked bottom end $2500 to $3000 and proper heads or head work another $2500 and some used extras carb. intake and dist. and headers
