hey everyone I have a 67 F-100 4x4 it came with a 390 and 4 speed with I would like too do is put a 351 and a c6 in I do have a 351 and c6 but it came out of a 2 wheel drive. So what do I need too do and what parts do I need?
You could either purchase a new output shaft, for the C6, and buy the adapter to "marry" the case to the trans. Lots of work, and not my preference.
Or you could just install a driveshaft from the 2wd output of the trans, to the "divorced" input of the t-case, and call it a day.
No, the lots of work part comes from taking a 2wd transmission apart to mate it to a married t-case. You should have a divorced case in there now right?
The 2wd transmission will work in your existing set-up with only modifications to the crossmember for the auto trans, and a driveshaft from the 2wd trans to the divorced case.
Thanks everyone looks like I will stay with my 390 then. It did come with a 4 speed trans and I would like too have an auto instead. So wath years would be good upgrade with a t-case?
