Air bags for Reese Signature Series 5w hitch?

Anyone using or know of any particular airbag setup that works with the Reese Signature Series 5w hitch? This is the type that uses custom fit frame rails which aparently interfere with most bolt on airbag kits.

Check with Firestone, they seem to have pretty good tech support. Just put 'em on with my Super Glide hitch and no probs...Brian

Thanks. I didn't investigate Firestone yet. I took a look at Air Lift which would have been my first choice, but the info on the web site rulled out custom rail hitches and the Signature Series specifically.

Timbrens are out of the question because the additional support is only need when the 5er is in tow. Needs to be adjustable.

We are getting quite a bit more squat than expected, now that the trailer is loaded with gear. Huge front compartments mean a lot of pin weight. Factory dry pin weight is 1927 lb. and I suspect it has gone up considerably with the compartments loaded. Empty she hardly budged, but now it takes it down quite a few inches.

Looks like Firestone Ride Rite kit 2400 might be the ticket. Mounts to the BACK side of the frame rail and is listed as fitting ALL 5w hitches. The other styles mount to the tire side of the frame rail and won't mount over the hitch rails.

Yah mine went inside too. I wee bit more of a pain, but perfect for 5'ers. BTW if your rig's lifted, you'll need one bracket that 's longer. PM me if you need and I'll explain...Brian

Firestone kit #2400

I had a set on my F250 with a 5er and they worked great. They are no drill and fit on the inside of the frame between the spring set and the shock mount. Only minor modification (grinding one corner of the mounting plate) was needed. My question is: I just got the same set for my 07 F350 DRW. There is an extra sway bar on the rear end of the F350 and it looks like it will interfere with airbag itself on the right side. The F250 didn't have this sway bar and it was a pretty tight install. I haven't had a chance to install (or even look at very closely) this new set up. I hope it works out as well as on the F250. I'll let you guys know how it turns out.

Thumbs up Firestones installed

Well I finally got around to installing the Firestone RideRites on my 07 F350 dually. The kit (#2400) went in fairly easily. There were no obstuctions. I also installed the on board air compressor and guage assembly. The compressor fits nicely on the inside right front fender and the switch/guage fits inside the little drivers glove box. Pretty slick. If they work out as well as the ones I had on my F250 I'll be a very happy camper. I'll be pulling my 15K Montana through the Smokeys in a couple of weeks and I'm glad I got them on before that. I believe that it is the best $450 I'll ever spend.
