propane tanks......

anyone have any idea why I cant use a regulare propane tank secured in the bed of my truck with one of the DPI systems......other than the companies want to charge 800 bucks for their tank....thanks

What kind of system are you going to use Liquid or Vapor.
The regular BBQ typ tanks are vapor phase only and wont work with a liquid phase system.

Which Vapor phase system? if it is powershot 2000 the valve in a BBQ type tank doesnt flow enough volume.
