you know i realy dont know. the gear splitter bolts to the tailend of the transmission. does your truck have an adapter housing between the trans and the transfer case? if it does i think the splitter would take the place of that adapter housing. therefore the splitter would be between the trans and the transfer case. im not to sure my truck came with the splitter the only thing it didnt work when i got it, i had to do some repairs on it.

don't think there's an adapter there. from what i know (from having '72 bronco three speed manual) the tranny bolts straight to the transfer case. got a 5-speed manual tranny on truck now. don't remember if you said whether yours was a manual or an auto, but if they make adapter, should be able to get one for mine if it doesn't bolt straight up. splitter would be great since i've got 410 gears in chunks and at 2000 rpm i'm only running about 60 or 65. gets kinda loud at times on a long trip. can't hear wife talking over the racket. or may be the wife making racket, not sure. LOL

mine is a c-6 automatic. even though the trans is a manual trans the gear splitter would have to go between the trans and the transfer case.

oh, duh! simple things of mechanical fixtures i forget! thanks for the input. haven't had chance to look up the website for that splitter, but certainly intend to. was wondering how much diesel has to get to before i can justify to wife buying one. LOL
