I heard if you vary the RPMS at highway speeds that helps with breakin as well.

I'm surprised that you won't put at LEAST 500 miles on it before Easter weekend!!! I had that on mine within a few DAYS! And my truck is NOT my daily driver. Just taking it out for a ride for a few hours and -BANG_ you're over your 500 miles.....have fun!

The 500 mile break in is more for the rear end gears than anything else. If they aren't completely set, towing with them can cause damage or lead to a noisy rear end. Will it happen if you tow, probably not but don't rule out the possibility. My uncle whom works at the GM garage, has said in the past that this tends to be a fairly common occurence over there. Take it with a grain of salt, but don't say you weren't told ahead of time.

I think I'd just get the 500 miles in a hurry. Drive it everywhere and enjoy it. It's a great truck. Enjoy!!

I figured that was coming Dustin, lol. I bleed blue but I'm also not nieve enough to forget they all break down. I have no inside info from the ford garage but I have gotten alot of tips from my unlce that would benifit any manufacture so I take his advise fairly seriously, of course untill he get a few whiskies in him and then the ribbing begins and the ***** flies, lol!

I think I would just drive the truck, alot,,Like a few other poster's have said, I mean get the feel of the truck first, and get atleast the 500 miles on it,,vary your speed,,dont be afraid to put your foot in it alittle,,they need that so when your pulling your RV from a stop uphill,(Oh thats right your on Flatland LOL,,) you can get up to speed quick,, and thoes V-10's love it,,I know mine did,,and they do pull, with the revs up !

I can recall,the V-10 at like 4700 RPM, 3rd gear (6-speed) 4:30 gears 75 mph, uphill towing a 23' camper,,basically pushing a (COUGH) Camry,,,It was great, Have fun.

No big deal. I started towing ('06 F250 FX4) from day one. And I mean within a couple hours after I bought it new. The truck will be a year old next week with zero problems.
