I need brakes
I need to put rotors and pads for my truck. I have looked at ART and they have a nice set up(330.00). I also checked NAPA end theirs are ok(285.00) I also looked at Autozone(200.00)
Does anyone have a real opinion on this? I know the autozone stuff is not great quality and the NAPA is much better, My question : is it worth the additional cost of the cryo's from ART? A buddy of mine says he couldnt tell a difference in his 2500 Ram diesel.

Look at wear on everything...Was your caliper piston sticking? Can you see the studs on the pads you took off? Are there well worn grooves in your rotors? All these things will let you know what you really need to replace.
Don't pay someone to do it. It can be done with a few wrenches and a c-clamp.

I have done alot of brake jobs. I just want to get good ones without going overboard. I keep hearing people talk about the cryo rotors and i want to know if they are worth the extra 100.00 bucks I always use napa for my machening. I just do not have the time this week to get them off then to NAPA to get turned and back on. I am out of town sat and sunday. I may take friday off to do it though. Thanks for the info and help though Mike

Get rotors, the factory ones on that truck are thin and tend to warp. Once you turn them, they are now thinner and will warp faster.
I usually get my rotors from Advance Auto (Schucks here), but I haven't had to replace rotors on anything since I got out here. Going to have to soon, though- getting four wheel disks on the 72, and hopefully power front disks on the Galaxie as soon as I can find donor parts.
