Arrow Summer Travel

I have only had my truck for 6 months. This is my first diesel engine vehicle. I've been reading here and have learned a lot. I haven't put many miles on the truck as it's only used to pull a boat and/or haul a lance cabover camper, also new purchases. I took a trip to Lake Tahoe in Dec. and it ran fine, but that isn't a long trip from central Ca.
Here is my question. Summer is almost here and I plan a few long trips. Heavy loads, Hot temperatures. What should I look for and what are a few of the common problems I might encounter.

Early 1999 F350 Crew Cab 4x4 DRW 189,000 Miles! Very clean, well cared for, I'm 2nd owner.

Thanks for your help.

Make sure your maintenance is up to date, and take along a spare CPS just in case. The tools to replace the CPS are a 10mm socket, extension, and ratchet.

Other than that, have fun.

If you get nothing else, get and put on the following BEFORE you pull heavy:

1) an auxiliary transmission cooler (Tru Cool 40K or better) and
2) a transmission temperature gauge

I'd also flush the tranny and replace the tranny filter too.
