like I said, it isn't meant to be adjusted. JUNK! I don't think they engineer anything in mind that someone might have to tighten stuff down the road when parts start to wear, they make them so they are awesome for a little while and then your left with a leaking POS.
This thread is a great fix to extend the life of our weatherstrip, will do very soon!! Thanks everyone!

I actually used the small size rubber vaccum line I found at True Value hardware. Perfect for the rear doors all of the way around and in between, Very tight now. Had to use lube in the long piece to get it through. Have not done the passenger doors yet, I feel that it may need a different size tube.

Vinyl tube might work in warm climate but here up north in Canada ?????????????
I got some and is good right now with temps. running around 70's,
but did a test and straight from the freezer that tube is rock solid, not good for winter
door closing for sure.
Well, I'd ordered latex tube from e-buy 1/4 ID with 1/16 walls.
Will let you know what's up.

Zbig, you should be able to get any of the latex sizes at a hardware, or outdoor spoting goods store. Ie: fishing or hunting.
They use the stuff for sling shots.
That's were o got mine any ways, and has been good thru the winter. Plus we don't necessarily get any colder here "up north" as some of the north central states get.

I saw latex tubing in Home Depot 10' long only for 15.99 Can.+ Tax, that's ridiculous.
That would surely cover only one door.
Didn't really measured yet but I think we need about close to 65-70 feet for 4 doors and barn door.
I'm also sure there's some northern states with cold temps, similar to what we're getting here in Quebec.
BTW I've tried some round foam seal from HDepot, it got flat within 2 days and slide out from short barn door weatherstrips.
Hope latex tube will withstand the pressure and not loose elasticity.

That is hwy robbery. I did my four doors over about 1 1/2 years ago, and has held up well. If I remember it was over 10 ft a door, plus if you do the barn doors. I just did the front 4.
I can see that the foam would not stand up at all. We use it regularly so I know how it performs, and it would not work for this application.
Make sure u use lots of soapy water, because the rubber has a tendency to stretch as u pull it in, and will shrink short over time. Plus the corners will pull on it, if stretched.

I did the door seal mod about two months ago using 3/8 OD lated tubing from Menards ($7.99/10'). So far it has held up great and made the rattles go away and the truck does seem quieter. As far as the cold weather, that is why I chose the latex, as here in Minnesota it will get down into the -30F range regularly in the winter months, so I guess I will see this winter how it holds up to the cold!

I just came back empty-handed from Home Depot. I went to get the 3/8th inch OD vynil tubing, which they had plenty of, but left it on the shelf. It seemed a little small to me. Is this for real? The smallish tubing seemed a little like putting a pencil in a garden hose. Is it enough to really make a difference? Really?
I eventually did do the mod on my Excursion, Expedition, Sport Trac and most recently on my Super Duty. Great results every time. Here's the video:
