Your Vehicule Has Been Equipped With A New Exhaust System Temperature Monitor That Will Flash The Check Engine Indicator Light (see Page 13 Of Your Owner Guide) And Limit The Engine Power If An Exhaust Overheat Condition Is Identified.this Limited Engine Power Will Allow The Function Of Power Steering And Braking But Will Limit Vehicule Acceleration. If The Check Engine Light Flashes, Pull Over To The Side Of The Road As Soon As Possible And Contact Your Authorised Dealer.
Depending On The Severity Of The Over-temperature Condition, the Vehicule May Or May Not Restart After Cycling The Ignition Off. If The Vehicule Restarts, There May Be Limited Power Or There Be Full Function. If The Exhaust Over-temperature Condition Reoccurs The Check Engine Light Will Again Flash And The Vehicule Will Again Have Limited Power. Again Stop The Vehicule As Soon As Safely Possible And Contact Your Autorized Dealer To Have The Condition Repaired. Please Keep This Letter In Your Glove Box For Future Reference.

Once again put this into perspective. Your alternator fails, how far are you going to get? Will you be able to restart your truck, car or jetski? My apoligies if you are offended. Good luck to you with whatever you decide to do.

The "torching of houses and people" have been nothing but rumors spread by nervous, excitable people. The video of the truck throwing flames, altho exciting, is not, I repeat, is not related to the recall. The truck had mechanical issues causing the flames (you could do the same thing to a vehicle all the way back in the 50's. To date, the 6.4 has been a reliable vehicle. Is there going to be things go wrong--sure. There has been things going wrong with the automobile since it was invented. If you have proof of how many "torch jobs" there has been, show them to us. To date, 1 in texas from leaking fuel lines, 2 in canada from defective turbos. This information comes from ford technical hotlines, my 6.4 instructor, my ford district rep. If my information is wrong, SHOW ME!

6200 miles no problems I changed the oil and air filter already 5700 miles and took 2 800 mile trips pulling my 15000 pound fifth wheel got 7MPG doing it including the climb in and out san diego to 4500 feet and down all of you that live in san diego know about it this is the only way to go east from here is thru that climb.
I think that my MPG has droped from 8.5 to 7.0 towing and from 18.0 to 16.5 cruising at 65 mph after the recall was done on my truck and if I knew that I would of skipped the recall that was done on my truck.

YIKES! That is really not a mpg that I was expecting to see from the all NEW 6.4L PSD. Hopefully that will improve once the engine really breaks-in all the way.
Good luck...
