Loss of Turbo Power after repairs

On Tuesday I took my truck in for a fuel leak and the fuel pump had to be replaced, $400 with labor. So, after I get it back I took it directly to the transmission shop to get it looked at because 2nd was out of sync and my clutch was acting funny. So, $3000 later I get it back with some new gears, new syncros, life is good (besides I am now broke). Today I decide to go get my boat out of storage to start getting it ready for summer. This is the first time I have driven on the freeway since getting that work done. I'm driving down the road at 75 mph and I look back and I have a heavy cloud of black smoke coming out of the exhaust the likes of which I have never seen on my truck. Then I notice that my turbo boost is showing zero boost. I pull over to see if my turbo sensor is off or something but everything looks okay. I continue on about 50 miles to where I keep my boat for the winter. On the way back I'm pulling my boat which weighs about 5000# and I have about a quarter or less of power as I usually do and even more black smoke. I can't even manage 65 mph up a slight grade and normally I could do about 80 up a steep grade with power to spare. On top of that it sounds like I hear a different turbo whistle that I haven't noticed before. You can really hear it spooling down after I shut the engine off and that is new.

Question: Would the mechanic have to touch the turbo to replace the fuel pump? Does this sound like some sort of leak in the turbo housing? I will call the mechanic that worked on the fuel pump tomorrow but I am curious if the experts on here have an idea.

Thanks.

Okay, disregard. I went back out to inspect everything I could and saw that one of the intercooler pipes had come apart at the rubber hose connectors. A hose clamp was loose and the two pipes disengaged from each other. I put them back together and tightened every hose clamp I could find and then took the boat out for a brisk pull. Everything is normal again and although relieved, I feel like a total dumba$$.

PS-Any chance this damaged my turbo when it was unhooked?
