will propane increase my MPG? if so how much? what kind of EGTs will i see both empty and loaded?

 

Yes it will. Most report a 2-6 mpg improvement. My question is how long would it take to recoup the initial cost of setting up a propane system and with a tank large enough to be useable....add to that the ever increasing cost of the propane itself and you may never get ahead of the curve on it.

 

Wrong, I use Propane on a 4.6 F 150 and you loose 5 -10% miles per gallon, the only bonus is here Propane is half the price of Petrol (gas) and therefore any lose is not so much of an issue.

The truck is fitted up with a Prinz sequential injection system ( eight seperate injectors) contolled by brain tapped into the standard engine control system.

 

The propane is used in small amounts as a catalyst to aid in the diesel combustion process. It absolutely will increase the diesels fuel economy.

A gas engine converted to run propane is completely different.

 

would i be able to use a propane tank off of a fork lift? od do i need something special.. DOT rating aside

can propane be mixed with biodiesel?

 

Sorry Mr Cookie 88, I got the wrong end of the stick. In UK where I am any Propane fitment has to conform to a set of regulations for 'construction and use'.

This is basic safety standards and a fork truck cylinder is a definate no no, but US may be different. All the tanks fitted to UK vehicles are made in Poland------------the land of cheap labour.
