i have a major problem with my 97 ford explorer,
i blew a tired turned off the car replaced the tire the following day ,
continued to try and start the car, and found that the ignition was locked up.
I have tried everything i can think of
jiggled the wheel,
pulled both left and right hard while turning the key,
getting newly cut key,
jacking up the whole front end and trying all of the above,
nothing is working,
i imagine there is somthing wrong with the ignition but there has not been and damage done to it, and there has been no previous damage to the ignition or the streering column in general,
any ideas would be greatly appreciated
the garage is my last resort,
thanks
Did you blow a front tire, and if so was there a lot of vibration before you got 'er stopped? I'm thinking that something in the steering column might've gotten damaged/disconnected.
