Mountain Lion in NE ???

Got this email from my cousin.. Yikes!!!!!

Fyi Albion/St Ed/Petersburg is in Boone County so it could be in that
area.
This is a farmer that used to come into SE Co-op - he lives by Boone!
These photos were taken by Colin Koeppen at his farm house last
week.
It
seems the big cat smelled the saurkraut & wieners Colin was
cooking
and
ventured closer to get a better look.

They're everywhere. Don't let what the game and parks says fool ya. They're all along the rivers and once in a while you'll find one out in the hills. We had a neighbor that moved into a house and found one in the basement.

There was a mountain lion hit by a car on I-80, just west of Omaha near the Platte River last year. There were like 5 or 6 supposed sightings all over Omaha, but none of them were confirmed.

Look at the bright side. That oughta keep the little vermin out of the way.
"Hey, Bob, you noticed all the stray cats these days"
"No Jim, since I got a mountain lion in my yard, can't say as I have. Come to think of it, I haven't gotten mail for three weeks either!"

LOL.... That's would be just freaky if I looked out my window and saw that big cat. I don't think I would go outside for days. And if I did, I would want to have a gun. That area is only about 20 miles from my hometown and that just freaks me out. I keep thinking that maybe it's just one of those hoax emails, but since they are around, I'm sure it's not. Cool Pics though.

They are here in eastern Iowa too, as well as NE Missouri... had an incident where theneighbor's pigs were out, and the cat slashed them all up. Sad thing is, they tried to blame it on my dogs...

Yup. They're around here too. My grandfather was out in the field one morning and he saw one just walking along like no one else was out there. This was less than 1/2 mile from his house...........

That looks like a young cat. It seems like its the younger males that have been getting closer to people. It was what, about 2 years ago the cops shot one in Omaha and now he lives at the zoo with 3 legs. And around the same time they shot one out of a tree in So. Sioux City on the edge of town. Another young male. Theres been a lot of sightings around here but I havent seen one.

FTKGM just reminded me - a few years ago they shot one in St. Paul very close to the high school.......it's now stuffed and mounted inside the school (how fitting - their mascot is a wildcat.........)
