hi i need help my 1989 5.0L 302 eddie bauer bronco, i recently heard a ticking noise when i went hard on the throttle and thought it would be fine because i dont usually press it to hard but now the noise happens as soon as i accelerate but it does not happen at idle, it sounds like its comming from underneath the car and it really makes my bronco sound cheap and i lost the aggressive sound of my flowmaster because theres a loud ticking acompanied by it.
Are you using a different octane of gas? How long have you had your flowmasters? I'm thinking maybe a different fuel or, a loose/blown gasket somewhere in your exhaust system. Let us know. Rob
i did switch octane gas, i went from 92 to 89 back to 92 just last night after using 89 for about 1 1/2 months, i have had the flowmaster for about a year.
Check The areas that your exaust mates with the manifolds. Could be something simple such as a donut gasket blowing out. Try a little trouble shooting, start it and lay beside it, try to find out where its originating from. I had a sound similar to yours, turns out my oxygen sensor was loose and I was leaking exaust from it. When your driving with your windows up, do you smell exaust? if so its an exaust leak near the front. Good Luck.
