Pre-runners?

Pre-runners?
Has anyone every converted their 73-79 into a pre-runner style truck. Where did you get the parts from. Does anyone race thier truck off road. Just getting an idea for the style of trucks out their. Thanks

Ive seen a couple done very nicely....to me they look good if done right. There are even a few manufacturers of fiberglass panels (bedsides ect) that are out there. I dont know that there are a lot of companies out there however....most of them that Ive seen either are owned or have been owned by fabricators so theres a lot of one off stuff on them.
I do know that you can get an awesome ammount of travel with a simple setup of bent beams (I assume youre talking about a 2wd) and good coilovers up front. Long story short though it wouldnt be as cheap as building say a Ranger or something of that size and age....it probably wont be cheap to set it up right mostly due to the lack of off the shelf kits.

i am on a desert site(desertrides.com) and me and a couple other guys are trying to get a coutom mold made for friberglass front fenders fpr the 73-79 f-series trucks.
it seems the only companies out there that make glass for the front of these trucks is perrys fab n fiber and their kit is a conversion.
the other comany is auto fab. and they only have a 3inch bulge.
the fenders we are trying to get made have about 4-6 inch bulge and trimmed wheel well 2-4 inches; if i remeber correctly.
there also quite possibly be a center drop hood with the fenders.
