well as you all know ive been asking about after market tachs, i just remebered tongiht, that i had and old peterbilt tach gauge in my garage and went running to see if it was still there......it is!!!!!!! so i know have it, and am wondering if it will work, heres some pictures, let me know what you think.....
yes it will work... you will have to go to a Peterbilt dealer and get the settings for the DIP switches. (I can no longer find mine) You can hook up right off a factory tach sensor and run it.... Peterbilt tach's can be lazy though so take note of that... I have a complete set of Pete gauges in my truck. Speedo, Tach, oil, amps, temp, oil temp, fuel filter restriction, vaccum, air psi (for air tanks), air psi (for air bags), EGT, intake air temp. I got lucky and found a 379 for parts. I put basically the whole dash in my pickup.. I truck for a living and I love my Pete dash.
i was working as a mechanic at a concrete plant/batch plant, and got anything i needed for free(i didnt steal it) i told them i needed a fuel gauge and asked if i found one if i could have it, i found one, it was attached to the hole gauge panel from a pete, i took it up and asked if i could take the fuel gauge, my boss then said, take the hole panel and get it out of the parts room, its just taking up space.............anyway, can i hook that up to my stock sending unit? could you tell me what wires go where? and mabey just mabey check out what position your DIP switches are....thanks Dustin
the 85 6.9 radiator wont fit into the 70 frame, so ill have to stay at a slower speed to keep from overheating lol...........untiil i can get a bigger rad that will fit into the 70 frame
