Fuel filter light is still on

I have a 96 f350 psd. I am having this problem with the fuel filter light, it is flickering, I replace the filter today it was pitch black and it is still filickering. Is there any trick to that. Also I am looking to get some modifications for the truck I am wondering which one is better chip or programmer. any help will be gratly apreciated.

Drain the filter to see if the light turns off. Catch the fluid into a container so you can inspect what has come out. If you see water you need to put fuel conditioner in the tanks to get rid of it. If the light continues to flicker and you are absolutely sure there is no water in the fuel the WIF sensor and the associated wireing may be bad/loose.

BTW: You should post your questions in the correct forum for your year truck, but you'll get help here too.
