They are just aluminum so with the right tools and patience you can work them back into shape .
i hear they have a "clear coating " on top you can strip with aircraft stripper then you can re polish them . i just cleaned mine up and repainted the black part , someday i'll replace them with a new set ($500.00)

Trim is way cool if you just hafta have that "stock" look...it really sets our old trucks off in period correctness. Problem is it was only the technology of the day...soft shiny aluminum that dents easily, held onto to American steel with funky fasteners. It always gets wacked by someone's door, or just rattles loose on average roadways. If you don't want another layer of constant maintenance, pull the trim and seal/cover the holes before you do your final cats pajamas paint job...they look just as good without trim and a quality paint job IMO.

The reverse paint scheme is unique, as Ford only offered the darker colors in the center body with lighter roofs and lower body on the 67/72's.
There are several full color books available today on Ford Trucks. I suggest you look at one/all before doing anything to your truck. The books will give you ideas on what to do.
