Smile HOw do I join this chapter got my first truck

Hey guys,
First off how do I join this chapter????

Just got my first truck last week. Got a 1964 f-100 stepside. I'm only 13 so I have a little over 2 years to get her running and looking good. I don't want to trick her out really just get her running and looking nice.

Need some advice where to find parts for her. Prefer to buy used parts from scrap yard, don't mind pullin them myself. For I have little money to start buyin NEW parts with. Got any ideas guys.
I'm from up near Batesville and any help would be GREAT.

Later, got to hit the hay have school tomorrow.
Bye,
Matt

Hey Matt. Welcome to FTE.

Joining the Arkansas chapter is easy. Just open this link https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/p...usergroupid=72 and tell the chapter leader you want in.

Where do you live? Plenty of salvage yards around.....just gotta hunt for what you need.

There aren't many good boneyards around anymore. Johnny Morris' in Judsonia has a few, but its one of those places thats almost impossible to find if you don't know where it is.

There used to be a real good one in atkins, but the guy crushed a bunch of his stuff and moved to plummerville. He still has a few bargains to be had. I bought a complete 390 with C6 transmission for $250

Let me know what you are looking for from time to time, and i'll see if i can help you.

You could always try junkyarddog.com, they have a nationwide database of salvage yards.

Will you guys keep your eyes open for a tailgate when you go to these "auto recyclers"?

I need one from a 72 all they way back to 53. Newer might be in better shape(???). The short bed ones are about 19" tall and 50" wide. Mine is mint, but too tall. I cannot find one around here......period.

I've got an absolute mint tailgate from a 76.
I have a 72 parts truck, but never paid much attention to the tailgate. I'll check it for ya

Only a unibody tail gate from 61 to I think 64 that is the only one that will work I can buy anew one for 450.00$ but I don't think so.
