Clutch pedal goes crunch

I was driving home last night & when I steped on the clutch I heard a plastic sounding crunch & now the pedal has more freeplay than before. The clutch still works ok. I suspect that cheap plastic bushing on the cluch rod has gone bad.
I saw the kit they sell on Ebay & i was wondering if anybody has tried it & what has to be done to install it. Thanks, John

I have never heard it crunch when mine broke. Might have been the clutch master cylinder or slave cylinder. I have seen the ebay fix but my stock setup lasted 10 years before any problems, I just replaced the bushing.

Thanks for the reply Foreman. I'm going to check into it more before I order anything. I heard it a couple times & it sounds like it's in cab. My luck it would be something expensive instead of cheap.

I tend to think it would be in the linkage. If it were in the hydraulics you would be having clutch engagement issues.

I just pulled my clutch pedal assy off and tapped the end of the rod that the master cylinder rod slides over, got a new bushing and cut the crowns off installed it all and put a nyloc nut on and havent had an issue since.
Never heard anything about the kits.
