Angry suspension sucks!!

My 97 Power Strokes suspension has got to be the WORST riding truck I have ever owned or drove!!!.. Does anyone Know of a fix other than completely removing all of it? And if I remove it what should I replace it with? I thought about air bags but, lots of money but I would do that if I could find a less expensive way. I know its a truck not a caddy but this just SUCKS!!!

Every one has been so helpful in the past so I want to say thanks again!!!

you can do a shackle reverse and super duty springs up front if you are good at fab work or have a fat wallet to pay somebody else to do it. or you can just use sky manufacturing RSK (reverse shackle kit) and reuse your original springs. The RSK with stock springs will be much better than stock and the RSk with superduty spring is the best possible solution aside from air ride with 4 link.

Is it a f-250 or 350?

You can use this kit along with a set of newer superduty leaf springs and get a much smoother ride.

oh and thats all assumming you have a f-350 and not a f-250 with TTB. the kits all give a lift to the front end over stock but if you have a f-250 you will need to looking into a dana 60 conversion. You could do lift pivot brackets but not sure if that the desired/acceptable method.

I just bought a 4'' lift, I have heard it helps the ride, I could see how it would my stock springs are only 1 inch away from the stop block right now.. Which can't be good for the ride. I hope to install my kit saturday. Then i'll no four sure.!!

yep thats the kit! the superduty springs require alot more fab work cause they are about 4 or 5 inch longer on the front side. the front bracket has to be moved as far forward on the frame as it can go which then interfers with the bumper mounting. it can be done with very good results just takes lots of fab work.

I don't know I take the F350 dually 4x4 At work any time as the 2002 F150 suck to rid in. These truck were built to haul not ride. If want a good ride put air bag suspension on it. Good luck on search.

Just put a few hundred pounds of crap in the bed. That will smooth it out
Its funny how smooth they ride with a trailer hooked up. Although the front is still rough

My truck is a F-250 not a F-350 and what is a dana 60 conversion? Does this mean I can or canot use the rsk?? And yes it does ride better when you have 2 pallets of bricks in the bed

dana 60 conversion is a straight axle conversion to the dana 60 axle that the f-350 uses. it alone will inporve the ride a very little bit. I would ask the sky RSK people about using the kit on a f-250

I remember finding a pair of new springs that would raise the front up 2 inches but I can't remember who made them. I have the same problem on the front of mine. I was just thinking about putting those springs in.. If I can find them again.

Let us know if you find them, mine is about 1" from the bump stops. I dont want to spent 1-2k for the d60 and rsk.

I found it the 2" springs for the front.

Here is the old thread about the front suspension. I think it should pretty much answer all your questions. I haven't done this mod yet but its on my list.
