Rust on Aluminum Keeps Coming Back
My truck has some fairly rough and tachy looking roll bars. When i first got it they were covored with surafce rust. I used some rust remove to remove the rust, then applied two coats of Turtle Wax Aluminum Polish.
Now, only a couple weeks later the rust is starting to come back...!
What can I do about this?

Well first off it the roll bars are aluminum they shouldnt be rusting bc aluminum doesnt rust. if they are chromed over and the rust is leakin through is the chrome flacked off and not there or have they just not been taken care of? Best thing i have found to use is Zephar 45 it is very hard to find and pretty expensive but if u can find it get a buffing wheel that goes on a drill and use this polish with the buffing wheel and buff the heck outta them..that should take care of it..if u cant find any Zephar try to use some mothers or something liek that but be sure to use a buffing wheel and that should work...

While you prolly don't go to a drive through car wash, be advised that the coin operated car wash soap, plus laundry and dish soap will strip off any wax or polymer coating. Dish soap is very harmful to paint. It'll dry it out, and leave a harmful deposit if not throughly removed.
Any drive through car wash soap will strip off the wax and polymer coatings after only two visits.

Wow, "chrome" went through my mind and aluminum came out through my finger tips.
Thanks for the advisory. I usually use soap that specifcally states "Does NOT Strip Wax". I learned the hard way by using the MR CLean car wash "kit".
Anyway, Ive been wanting a mother's powerball. I guess this is a good time to get one.
