3/4 ton running gear swap

I want to put the running gear from a 1984 F250 under my 1979 Bronco. Now I know I will have to use the spring buckets off my old axle. But I need to know if there is anything else I will need to do the the 3/4 ton front axle for it to work under my Bronco (steering, radius arms,etc.).
thanks for any help

If I remember correclty, the front axel under the 250 would be a Twin-Traction beam Dana 44 or Dana 50. Thiss would not work under a '78 Bronco, since that year yaer they were equiped with a solid front axle. If you want to convert it to a 3/4 Ton bronco, you will need to find your 8 lug rear axle (Dana 60 or Ford 10.25) and then a solid dana 44 HD, which can be found under the frontside of mid to late seventies 4x4 pickups.

Yup, the '84 F-250 will most likely be a TTB suspension. Although is is technically possible to put that in your '79 Bronco it's a step down from the solid axle you currently have. You really need to find the front axle out of a 77-79 F-250, any older & they will have drum brakes & closed knuckles. Another issue is that I believe the front suspension will be leaf sprung on those trucks, the '76 F-250 I had was. You will have to change it over to coils & radius arms if it is.

I thought the F150 was the only one with the ttb front end. But I will have to look closer at the truck.

No, F250s got leaf sprung TTB from '80-97 (yes, '97!) and even F350s got it from '80-'85ish.

Dont' waste your time. Throw a full floater in the rear and convert your current front to 8 lugs.

The F250 from that year to the best of my knowledge was a solid axle but leaf spring hung
