Purple Hornies

I am looking into replacing my exhaust (which is MIA after the cats...) with a set of Hedman Elite headers and a set of Purple Hornies. has anyone ever used Purple Hornies before? I have always liked glass packs, and put them on almost everything I drive but have never used Purple Hornies.

If anyone has used them, what have you thought, and how are they attached, since they are not that long do they need a hanger, or will they be fine hanging on the headers? Will the weight of them hanging on the headers be a problem?

Thanks!

Josh

PS. sorry for saying Purple Hornies a lot, its just fun thanks again!

Too late to edit, but I just wanted to make sure that everyone knew what I was talking about.

The Purple Hornies can be bought in a header muffler with a down turned tip (bolts right to long tube headers)

Not calling people dumb, just wanted to make sure that I was clear in what I was asking.

Never heard of purple hornies, but i did bolt up a 30/34 In long set of Cherry Bombs
to my Hooker headers on my 73' Mercury Montego with the pipes exiting in front of
my rear wheels. sounds real good.

Purple Hornies are a flowtech product (under Holley) I have looked at them before, but never got any, but the name is certainly an eye catcher!

no reason to get these except that you like to say "purple hornies".

way better mufflers on the market now.

p.h. were too loud in the 70's and they are no quieter 30 years later.

that was one thing that I was wondering about, quicklook2. I do, however like the fact that they would be a simple install for me. Since I am not the greatest welder, I wouldnt have to worry about a bunch of pipe and junk. the price is also decent, like 75 bucks for both.

So, the reason for getting them isnt because it is fun to say, (even though it is) but instead because it is easy and economical

i1dery, they are availiable in a regular or header slip fit muffler that is 24 inches, or the header muffler with a down turned tip is 32 inches long

On Holleys site, they claim that they have some good performance and sound gains, but no numbers.

here is a link the them if you want to check them out

even though they are simple to put on, you will attract a lot of attention from the police because of the noise level.

Aren't they commonly found on CJ5 & 7's with a V-8? They do sound good on Jeeps with V-8's!
