Ok.. I spoke with Aaron some more at IntakeElbows.com and he sent me an email of a guy with an 04 that used the 05-07 Elbow by removing his Throttle Valve.. Aaron told me to pull the plug and drive it, see if it throws a CEL. Now I looked and I know where the Elbow is and I believe I found the Throttle Valve right below it that it bolts to.. But where is the Plug? I found one electrical plug beside the elbow ontop of this "Rectangle" box that the Elbow bottom bolts into. Is that the plug for the Throttle valve? I have the latest flash so Aaron said it's been disabled but to verify if it throws a CEL or not.
Ok found it and pulled it.. No CEL.. But now my concern lies here.. What if I take the Valve out and get warranty work done. Will ford have a fit if they notice I removed it? Am I safer for Warranty reasons to stick with an elbow that fits with the valve.. I talked to the dealer and asked him bout the elbow and he said he wouldn't hold me against that. But I didn't mention taking the entire valve off.. He's been pretty nice and lets me get warranty with no muffler/cat.. I don't want to take a lot of advantage over him since they take care of me..

The valve is not used in any of the Ford strategies, and unhooking it modifies absolutely nothing. Keep in mind that one model year later Ford threw it in the trashcan themselves. Most field engineers would not even classify the elbow as a modification, just like a muffler delete.

Install it and forget about it.
Elbow doesnt bother me.. What does is im told now I can use the 05-07 Power Elbow by simplying remove that throttle valve.. Few buds I talked to agree to use the 03-04 elbow and leave that valve there incase ford goes mad because I completely removed the throttle valve even though its not used.. I know the elbow is fine, my service manager said that was ok.. But I think removing that throttle valve would raise some stink if I ever took it in..
Has anybody gotten any good gain from an after market elbow? For around $150 for a 90° piece of pipe is crazy. I wonder if anybody has polished the factory elbow and gotten any gains.

That's what I was referring to. The valve itself serves no practical purpose even in Ford's eyes and that is why they removed it. Disconnecting it will make no active changes in your running strategy and therefore poses no warranty concern.
As a matter of fact, not only will it not throw a check engine light, but it will not even trigger a diagnostic trouble code; because all of the control tables, PID's, and associated DTC's with the throttle valve have been removed in all of the newer flashes, regardless of model year.
