Got some color on yesterday

Just a few shots nothing to get all excited over.... however I'm pretty excited! LOL

Its a GMC truck color. Looks dark from a side view but lighted up if you look right at the side of it. pretty cool looking to me. I got a like tiger strip going on on the back the cab passenger side but I think once the bed is done and on it will not be so apparent.

Now the rain has moved in for the rest of the week cant wait to roll it out and see what it looks like in the sun

looks good! Did you use base coat/clear coat or just a color coat?

I wimped out and did a single stage as I have never used clear before. but it is not acrylic. Was / is a hard color to shoot as its very touchy to layers. I have one bad run that I will need to clean up later on. I think the next time Im not going metallic and will try a BC/CC set up.

I am shocked as how thin of a layer my new HVLP gun shoots. I was able to do a full coat with about 3/4 of a cup and have a little left in the gun. I did 4 coats and used less then 1/2 a gallon of paint + reducer and hardener..

I just painted mine sunday with a base and clear coat. The base was easy but I've got a lot of orange peel in my clear. The clear was a pain to shoot. The hvlp guns are sweet, I just used a cheap one I picked up at the parts store and it worked great
