Superlift kits good or bad??

I just put a superlift 6inch kit on my 96 with new radius arms and I am very pleased. I got the lift through 4wheel parts wholesalers and they recomended superlift. They have always given good advice. One of there employees even has the same setup I got on his bronco. He to was very happy with the lift. It rides nice and looks good. I also had a ford pickup with a 4 inch superlift kit and during the two years I owned the truck I never had a problem. I do offroad quit a bit so the suspension is put to use.

bronco cam,

Did you go with rear springs as well or just the standard lift blocks? I have been researching a lift for my Bronco, but want new rear springs instead of blocks. I have narrowed my search down to Superlift and Skyjacker. I had a Skyjacker lift on my F-150, and it was great.

Also, what is the benefit of the extended radius arms other than you can get wider tires to fit without rubbing?

you should also look into www.bds-suspension.com They put out a really good lift and have a lifetime warranty on there product. Ive heard good things about these guys. On the mybronco.com forum they dont think to highly of superlift, I guess there have been alot of radius arms cracking and other problems with the superlift suspension. Iam to looking into a lift so Ive been reading up alot about the various options out there. Good luck with your choice

Superlift kits good or bad??

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 02-Oct-02 AT 08:12 PM (EST)]I have never had a problem with my lift. I also have several buddies that use superlift products with know complaints. We offroad alot in the woods and the sand. We dont do alot of rock crawling so maybe that is where people are having problems. If you do get this lift spend the extra money for radius arms. It helps your wheel travel and the qaulity of you ride. I went with a add leaf and a block . You can get new spring packs if you want to spend the money. Superlift does have a liftime warrenty, but if you jump your truck 20 feet or role over you probably will not be covered.

My '92 has a 4" tuff Country under it and its ALL spring...no blocks at all. The one thing i DID get from Superlift though was the superunner steering...what a great imporvement over stock...bump-steer is all but eliminated and performance unlimited makes bullet proof, race proof, and rock proof linkages for Superunner steering equiped trucks.

The superlift is a great lift, I replaced my ProComp lift with the superlift and it was a tremendous improvement. The super runner steering is not worth the $400. Get some new tie rods if you want the same feel. Its 1/3 the cost. Skyjacker is great if you want large tires underneath your truck. The rear springs are almost a must because of the standerd wedge that is under the truck already. I think that the Skyjacker rear leafs ride the best in a Bronco, they have a tapered design which allows them to flex smoother. Just decide how large of tire you want to fit. If you want 35's the get he Superlift 6" kit and if you want 37's then get the Skyjacker 8".

I have a 6" Superlift on my 84 w/ blocks, I dont like it at all, their coils dont hold up well. I just bought a 6" Skyjacker for my 79 and it is 100% better than Superlift in my opinion.

Superlift kits good or bad??

Hey guys, all of you that have the 6" lift on your bronco. Did you have to do anything to the driveshafts? I have heard "YES":-X23 you do and "NO" you don't. If I have to rebuild the driveshafts then I am going with a 4". Please let me know. I really want a 6"..

Thanks

I have the 6inch lift and I did not have to rebuild my driveshafts. They dont need to be lengthened so I am not sure why anyone with a 6 inch lift would rebuild. IF by rebuild you mean put in new u joints then yes I would reccomend doing that if you have lots of miles on your exsiting u joints.

No I wasn't referring to the u-joints. I was talking about having them lengthened. U-joints are a breeze to do but the driveshafts are $$$$ and I don't have that on top of the $$$ for the lift...

I crawled under my bronco and see no reason for making the drivelines longer. I guess a guy could get the rear diff turned up to help with the u joint angle, but that could get expensive and I have never had to do that with only 6 inches of lift.
