carrier change questions

I am seriously considering buying a locker for my 8.8", but it has limited slip, so it has a different carrier and the only locker available for that carrier is the No-Slip. I found a really good price on a Detroit, but that will involve taking out the ring gear and essentially replacing the carrier.
Can someone who has actually done this before tell me if I will need to reset the gears if I go with the detroit? I need to know because if I am going to have fork over more dough to have a shop reset the gears, it would be better for me to pay more and get the No-Slip which will be cheaper in the long run because no installation costs.
Four Wheel Parts said that there is no need to reset the gears, but people are telling me that it is necessary. I have not gotten one bit of info from someone who has actually done this before though, so if you can tell me definitively one way or the other it would be great. Thanks guys!

Ok that is a simple decsion!!! Stay with the limited slip!!!!I have been running limited slip in mine ofr years.I go where every one else does with their lockers, get better tire wear, and break a whole lot less drive train parts. And we get into some hairy off roading/rock crawling. If yo9u really want to make it work excellent install limited slip up front too.BUt,one in the rear works good too.Just have to pick your paths a little more wisley

With a nine inch, I've broken 2 limited slips before going with a Detroit Locker. After the locker, I have only twisted the drive
shaft. For me, it's easier and cheaper to swap drive shafts than rearends.
