my truck started to buck this morning only 3 times it did this.i thought maybe cam sensor, but the last time it failed the truck just stalled, but started right back up.this actually feels like power is cut off stumbles a couple of times and keeps going.no check eng light comes on. im pretty sure cam sensor is it,but any other input would be most welcome!

You said buck, like going down the road truck dies and starts with what could be described as a violent motion. If that is what you are describing then yes my last cam sensor that went out malfunctioned like that, I never had it actually quit running. I went with the international blue cam sensor and I like it better. I have a 97 also and there was no need for me to shim it was an in out job. good luck, and let us know if that is it.

let us know how it works out, also my truck did not throw codes when it started doing that, and it through me for a loop. When I spend money I want to know it will work, you know what I am saying?

I second that, when I first bought my truck it did the same exact thing and I changed my cps it fixed that problem...I have changed it a few times and now I am with the blue cps but this is still fresh so I am not shure wich is gonna last longer yet. you can try a blue cps but it may not last any longer than a black one.
