Help please I bought a 97 windstar that was hit in front only damage to front clip ran fine before accident now inertia reset wont restart the fuel pump? is the switch bad or should i try something else?

 

is there 12v in and out of switch?

do you have 12v to fuel pump with key on?

they are a fairly complex fragile switch with a mercury switch tumbler...never had one fail....seen thousands in use on logging road racing and creek crawler competions

 

I saw one fail.It was on an 87 mercury. I think maybe its something else causing it not to start after a serious collision. Lucky if it was just the switch

 

if your fuel shut off switch is triggered the reset button should be up push it down turn key ahead listen in tank for fuel pump running if not check fuel pump relay under hood .
