265/70 or 31/10-50

I am about to get new tires for my 1994 FlareSide (F150). Im debating between the BF Goodrich All Terrain 31/10-50 or 265/70 and the Goodyear Wrangler 265/70. Any suggestions on the tires? I also saw a set or Toyo's all terrain tires.

Both sizes about same. I used to run the BF goodrich 265 70 15 performance raidials on my truck for long trips (road soft no noise) same hight as my 31/10/15 grabbers . I'd say for wear/reliability it would be BF Goodrich and then GoodYear, and then Toyo My friend had a set and they wore quick . Good luck

I have 265's on my truck at the moment, but am going to need new meats before too long. I'm pretty well settled on the BFG AT KO's in 31X10.50. My truck has the 3.55 gears, and I have no problems with the 265's, so I can't imagine the small step up will cause any troubles.

take a look at the bridgstone dueler at revo its the very best of all worlds and a Firestone retail store will give you 30 days to try them before you have to keep them.

Yes... thats my point exactly. 32's are too big for my truck. They will hit the fenders and such.

If you want tires that will fill in the wheel well, real well,
than go with 275 70's that should fit just right, just a tad
wider than the 265's and will only change your speedometer
about 1 mph,.
A real nice tire is the ??? Toyo Proxes ST also have them in the
275-70's will look sharp, have them on my wifes expedition,
no rubbing and fits the wheel well.

my 92 flareside has 255-70/15 on it now and before i put the new shocks on it, the fronts hit the outside top of the wheelwell on good dips in the road. They stick out about a 1/2 inch past the edge of the fender.
I'm looking at the Yokohama Avid ST 255-70/15 for replacement. GREAT reviews at tire rack. I don't need off-road at all.....just a nice smooth ride when I go to the golf course....lol

Anybody running these now?

Thanks.....Bob

I'll have to look into those toyo's.. i need a somewhat affordable tire as well. At the moment i have 235 on my truck and the spedometer is off roughly %10. When it reads 30, im actaullay going 25-26.

the toyo 275/70/16 run about 116.00 bucks apiece.
The best thing to do is ask your local tire dealer
what size you can get away with, toyo.com to see the
proxes st i was mentioning. You can also go to
1010tires.com there you can size up any combo of
tires you want and then price them.

Yeh, I looked up the Toyo Proxes st, there more a tire you would find on a Lightning. I'm trying to go for the street truck/off road look. The BF GoodRich tires give me that. The Toyo BackCountry (i think thats what they are called) looks nice as well.
