1st option: if your NOT going with headers, and your factory cat ai'nt clogged..........a FM series muffler (40 or 50 series) with single in/dual out, and posible a custome made Y pipe from a REPUTABLE muffler shop.
2nd option: headers & Y pipe (i love my BANKS kit), OEM or good high flow CAT replacement, and once again a FM 40 or 50 series muffler.
check out the clips in post #10. there are clips of trucks with STOCK manifolds and Y pipes w/ FM mufflers!
hey trammudd where can i order the headers and and y pipe and everyhting else to make it sound like urs i like that..also i like damin smith that sounds good but can u tell me where i can order what u have is there a number i can call or a website i can got to for it please urs sounds mean.. thanks mudd.. stephen
ok how about this where do i buy the banks headers and y pipe i will keep the stock cat but then un a 3 1/2 pipe to flowmaster 40 with 3 1/2 to tip should that work good?mudd?
Howdy
Heres my idea.
I got a 99 f350, it had stock exhaust when i got it at 46000 miles. It ran ok but no power, since the o2 sensor is in front of the cat and there isnt one behind it.
I ordered the banks headers and y pipe. That was a fun day in the shop needed a 12 pack after that day.
then i throwed the old cat as far as i could across the drive way, took a straight piece of pipe and went back to a summit muffler ( knok off Flowmaster) it was a single in, dual outlet, had custom tail pipes bent at the local muffler shop.
It sound cools and it gave it enough power that it was night and day difference, the headers and y-pipe really woke it up. Then i added the k&n air filter and the superchip programmer. I am really happy with the power and still get 11 to 12 mpg empty and about 6 loaded pulling a trailer that weights 18500 lbs usually top the scales at about 26000 lbs when going to a tractor pull, dont even think about overdrive and usually run about 60 to 65 mph.
just my idea

sounds good where do i get the headers and y pipe lol i haved asked like in 10 of my posts haha i tryed looking but all i saw was stinger kit and stuff but that is what i was thinking of doing i dont like the hole dule pipes i like just the single out like stock i think looks much nicer lol is there a web site to get the headers again i ask please ( im not trying to be rude sorry if it seems it ) but how did it run with the cat out ? good and im thinking of i get the banks headers and the y pipe then the 02 sensor is in the y pipe??? then i can go stight back to flowmaster and out the side probley 3 1/2 inch pipe thanks if i should go smaller please inform thanks stephen
Just call banks and tell them what you got, and what you want to buy, dont let them tell you it wont work, just tell them you want the headers and the y-pipe, your doing everything else youself. sorry i dont have the number but you can look it up online
good luck
