If the horsepower race continues, I think we will see the same thing happen that eliminated muscle cars in the late 60s. Those of us that are old enough to remember will recall that insurance companies and the government eliminated the horsepower race. The insurance companies made insurance unaffordable on high horsepower hot rods and the government choked off horsepower with emission standards. Now, I can see insurance companies again surcharging for excessive horsepower and the government choking off horsepower with both emission and fuel mileage requirements.

I'm not too sure if the recalls for Toyota are from injuries or deaths, or just reaccuing problems that Toyota pin pointed as a recall issue ( if anyone has info on this please share! )
If anything this is better for Toyota, get the problem fixed now so the consumer will have confidence in the new model. I wish Ford would take that same stand in regards to helping out the consumers who had to pay for Ford's spark plug issue design flaw!

Sure thing, I didn't know we were comparing Half Tons. You guys are really something, I'll make sure not to feed the fire. Geez. I wouldn't be surprise if this site end up with one user talking to himself DOHC. People like that just drive people away. I'll be sure to post where your not.
Maybe your son is laughing at you "DADDY, why do say such dumb things"....Somebody must of taught you how to "SPOKE". My son is smarter then that.

The 1/2 ton was there for the weekend warrior who wanted to make a run to the dump, or haul a load of firewood or some such - light duty. The 3/4 ton was there for the guy who had some SERIOUS pulling or hauling to do.......we had/have a choice.
So, I don't get it when I hear people complain about the 1/2 ton line-up not having enough HP, towing capacity, etc........"Dude, shoulda bought the 3/4 ton, eh?"
Conversely, I also don't get when I hear the 3/4 ton crowd bitch because their truck ain't gettin' 20 mpg......"Dude, shoulda bought the 1/2 ton, eh?"
Am I missin' something here?

everyone here has a good piont ...but we all agree on 2 things 1....FORD IS THE BEST TRUCK HANDS DOWN.............. 2 THEY SHOULD BE A LEADER OTHER THAN A FOLLOWER i just think fords focus is on other things (like the gt40 or the shelby mustang , which there is nothing wrong with those fine autos but the sells or maybe 20,000 a year) i mean ford, dodge, and yes even chevy invented horsepower, why not keep it that way. Could you see toyota in the 70's with a muscle car!!! HA 400hp COROLLA!!!

I'm sure all brands have their fair share of recalls. [the Ford Cruise control fires in the driveways is a recent one i can think of.]
I like that last post, 79muddbug. Yep, i'll hold onto my Ford trucks as long as i can. Hope to someday pass them down to my two boys.

The original concept of a 1/2 ton truck was daily workage, with the one ton and larger trucks doing the heavy work. The 3/4 ton F-2 was added to fill the gap between the F-1 (half ton) and F-3 (one ton) in 1948.
The people that whine, moan and pi$$ (I'm not one) about the 300 HP figure of the F150 don't use their trucks for much more than a daily driver, towing a boat, hauling ATV's to the camp site, or street racing. They also want more power (read=street racing), but whine about existing gas mileage figures. Ford doesn't build the 6200 lb F150 to satisfy the whims of leadfooted kids. But you'd never know that from all the whining.
Elephant in the room...LOL...at 6-5 325 lbs I fit the bill, but only for that reason!

Seems to me the retard doesn't fall far from the tree..........
The fact that you bring up the V10 against the other makers' 1/2 ton offerings just solidifies how clueless you are.
If you wanted to compare the V10's torque, common sense would dictate you need to compare GM's 8.1 and Duramax....or Dodge's Cummins.
You come on here with multiple user names,(why the mods haven't noticed is beyond me) your babbling posts are nearly incoherent and then you pretend to have your sick eight year old son post...........You are beyond pathetic.
