'06 F-250 Bazooka Tube Questions

Installed my system last weekend in my '06 F-250 C/C. Thnaks in part to a ton of good info here. While I am very pleased with the system, I know I must have a sub. Basically, I mounted my Amp and nav unit on the back side of the rear fold down seat, so that takes up some room back there. I have pretty much settled on bazooka tube or tubes. Is there anyone with these installed behind the rear seat of a 250 C/C? It seems the 8" may just fit back there, but I do not know for sure. Will the 8" fit back there if the spare tire kit tray thing is removed? I think I will start with just one unit, to see how it sounds, then If I feel I need a little more, I may go with two tubes if required. I listen to a lot of different types of music, mainly rock, rap, reggae, country. Biggest problem with my current setup is that it handles the rock, reggae and country great, but it does not have the capability of handling the bass. I have Polk components in the front doors, and polk's in the rear replacing the factory speakers.

Thanks - Jay

A 6" fits with the tray still installed, in fact the tray holds the tube quite nicely. An 8" would definately be tight, hopefully someone else will chime in with a real answer to this size.

Thanks for the reply. I made a template out of MDF that matched the published dimensions of the 8" tube and it would not fit without any modification. Went ahead and ordered two of the 6" 200 watt tubes. Hopefully I will be pleased.

I tried to install and 8" and wouldn't fit. Order a box from suprecrewsound and be done with it. Better bass that way

Ended up going with the amplified 6" BTA6200 tubes, two of them. Had to unbolt the seat to get them back there, then re-bolt the seat, they sound sweet back there. Just what the truck needs.
