Question 95 E-150 Heating Problem, Fan Works No Heat

Have 95 E-150, 5.0, Fan works, but no air out vents. AC works and blows, vent works, when using vent can feel hot air flowing. Saw the leaves in the blower motor posts, same for the Econolines? Has rear heater also, not sure of what is happening there. Doesn't get to hot back there either. Wheelchair van, need some simple things to check,(LOL) Any help please? Coolant good and up to top. Good temp reading on gauge. Hot is there, just need it to blow out!

I do not understand what you are saying but maybe the three links below will help you out. The diagrams say 92 & 93 but they are the same for your 95.

It sounds like you've got an obstruction in the heater box. It's either the blend door is broken, leaves, or a rodent nest.

regarding no heat!

Sounds like there is either an obstruction in the duct box, or the switch controling the blend doors is not functioning correctly. You specified that the fan does indeed work and that it only blows cold air, is this correct? I ask simply because another possibility may exist. There may be a heater vent control valve that is not opening to allow coolant to flow into the heater core, or there may be an obstruction in the hoses to the valve if not the actiual heater core itself. The heater core may also be covered with leaves, or debris. My first instinct is the blend door actuating switch. Without the van in front of me, it's hard to say. Getting heat from the vent mode seems to indicate that heat is being provided by the motor. My experience keeps leading me back to an obstruction in the duct/heater core box.

Exclamation Sorry for the Confusion

Hi Everyone, sorry for the confusion. OK the heater core is getting hot, since when I put the control on vent and hot air flows into cabin. Next the fan is running when I turn on the switch. But when I put the control on heat, floor or Def/Floor, I can hear the fan motor running but no air being pumped out of the vents, nada. Like I said when on fresh air vent there is flow and when I turn on the AC it blows cold and air is being forced out of the vents. Just when I turn on heat and fan running, no hot air being forced out of the vents. Seems as if it is the control you speak of, or the blend door. But if it changes between AC and vent would that not preclude the blend door? Unless something is blocking it closed for heat. I had hot air blowing out of the vents last week, but this week fan motor running yet no hot air being forced out of the vents. Hope that clears some of the mystery up. At the rate I work it will be spring soon and it won't matter till next winter. (LOL) Hope thats not the case, it is gettting cold here on Long Island, NY. Thanks and keep the suggestions coming. Kevin

I think part of the confusion is that you are calling every air outlet a vent.

Did look at the links I posted above for you?

As you can see in the diagrams leaves can not get to the blend door, only the Recirc door and then only if the screen has a hole in it.

The blend door is controlled by the Temperature Control on the dash and uses a cable to manually operate it.

There is no difference in the operation of the vacuum controls in heat and A/C, you just manually move the Temperature Control on the dash.

When you move the control to Floor does the air come out of the Defrost vents up by the windshield?

Or is that where it is blowing to all the time anyway?
