Silver Lake Sand Dunes in MI Event

Ok here it is, just like the title says now lets pick some info.
( The date must be after April 1st to book this as they dont open till then. )

Go to silversanddunes.com for more info.

Ok so this is what I would like to know:

1. What date or dates do we want to go?

2. Camping or resort/hotel and which one? ( I think the Yogi Bear Yellowstone is more family ready but thats just me )

3. Weekend ( Fri-Sat ) or full week?

4. Going to drive your truck in the dunes or just going to be a beach bum or be like me and do some of both LOL !!!!!

I would like to extend this to other chapters aswell to get a larger turn out.

I may go. I do not have a truck yet but have been there in the past with a different truck that i no longer own.

As for a time, well it wount really matter to me. As for lenght of time, id say only a weekend. The place isnt huge so it can become a little boring after awhile. I know for me ill be driving my truck around. i am def not a beach bum!

Yogi bear will be a good place to camp. The state grounds are typically very loud with partiers all night so its hard to get some sleep.

Hope that helps with the planning efforts, and one last thing, BOOK YOUR STAY EARLY at whatever campground you decide to ge to. They are booked months in advance so now would be a good time.

Have to agree with Tecman after viewing the park campground map. While my wife and I prefer state parks for the for the quite and some distance between campsites, there are some where they stack um in like sardines. Il has a few like that. Jellystone could have the same noise problem. Checked the site out and it doesn't say yea or nae on the alcohol. The noise makers and partiers are usually the "drinkers". As a newbe I've never attened any FTE events. What kind of #'s usually attend your events? You might have to use that as your guide.

Red face The Dunes

This probably won't be a whole lot of help. Would like to meet the gang and check out the rigs, but have a lot going on next year.

1. What date or dates do we want to go?
A lot coming up for me in 07. Canada last week of May. Wife's daughter
getting married June 9th. Disneyworld w/the grandkids the 3rd or 4th week
June. I'll just wait to see where it falls.

2. Camping or resort/hotel and which one? ( I think the Yogi Bear Yellowstone is more family ready but thats just me )
Perfer camping. Just purchased a 5th wheel.

3. Weekend ( Fri-Sat ) or full week?
For now a weekend. Wife has to keep track of vacation time.

4. Going to drive your truck in the dunes or just going to be a beach bum or be like me and do some of both LOL !!!!!
Would like to drive the dunes, but will need another set of tires. Might
just watch this time, inbetween fishing.

Here are some new info sites to look at for this event.

http://www.michiganjeepbum.com/thing...sanddunes.html

and

http://www.silverlakecvb.org/driving...oadvechic.html

So all I need now is a date to start planing this event. Just let me know I will set it up as soon as I can as I am being told that if I dont do it soon we maybe limited for campsites.
