Level-It Kit ???

I just put a Level-It kit in my '03 F-350. It's a S/B C/C 7.3PSD.

All went well and the install was pretty easy, but when I put the tires back on and went for a test drive, my steering wheel was about 1/4 turn off. After thinking about this for a minute...it makes sense, because of the change in height. There was no drop pittman arm with this system, so I never gave it a second thought.

I will be getting the front end aligned when the new tires go on, but I was wondering if I could drop the pittman arm and rotate the steering wheel to center, then install the arm back on the splines?

If my memory serves me, I was going to do this on an old Jeep I used to own, but there was a slot on the side of the splines for the bolt to sit in. Is there a similar setup on these??

My tires are a week away, and driving with the wheel off center is going to drive me nuts!!! Thanks for any help.

You can correct that without changing the toe in.Loosen the clamp ends of the steering linkage from the pitman arm to the tie rod, turn it a little and test drive,a little goes a long way here. You should have to lengthen the rod to correct the off center condition. When it's right retighten the clamps.

yeah, just pull into wherever you're going to do the adjustment as straight as you can, then get under there and adjust the linkage with someone in the cab telling you when the steering wheel is centered. this will get you close anyways..

where did you purchase the leveling kit. Will it void the warranty if it is installed?

This is the same thing I had to do. Like these guys, said a little goes a long way.
Turn your wheel to straight, loosen up the clamps, and turn it until the tires are pointing straight. I went a little too far and I still had to have an alignment done, so my guys starightened it the rest of the way for me.

I bought the kit off the internet...www.suspensionconnection.com. It was the best price on the Tuff Country Kit I wanted to use.

I did fix the steering wheel issue this morning. Thanks to all who responded. I was referred to this site by a guy on CorvetteForum. (Yes I own a Chevy too)
So I will be back often with questions and hopefully some answers for people too!!
