Serp. belt makes a terrible noise in my new 2007, help?
My serpentine belt makes a terrible noise all the time now. My truck only has 2000 miles on it. (2007 6.0).
It started intermittently at around 500 miles.
I sprayed a mist of wd-40 on the belt to see if it was truely the belt and not a bearing going bad. It stopped immediately, so it is the belt. Noise comes back later of course.
I've recently tried a belt dressing. Only stops the squeal for a few miles.
This noise is so irritating, especially in a brand new truck!
Any suggestions? Think they will cover it under warranty?

I had a bad belt on my new 07 F-350 too. At 1000 miles I noticed "fraying" on the belt but only in on 5" section. That told me it was the belt and not pulley problems. In my mind if one or more pulleys would have had a bad spot on them, the entire lenght of the bed would have went bad. Note: I did not have any belt noise prior to noticing the problem. Replaced under warranty.

that is exactly what mine was doing, cold squeek, warm no squeek.
it took the idiots at the dealership three days to figure it out and they replaced the serpentine belt.
it hasn't happened since the belt replacement, but it was strange that it was just the belt. if it comes back I'll post about it.
