Storage underneath rear fenders?

I need some help here -- I've seen 2 trucks where you lift up the rear fenders (they're hinged on the top of the bed) and underneath that there are storage bins for tools, etc. I don't know what this type of storage is called, so I can't search for it on the internet. Does anyone know what this type os fender storage system is called, or who might mianufacture these? I've got so many tools inside my truck I'd love to get them out of the cab but still protected from "helpful hands". Thanks

I don't remember the name (sorry), but I saw them and looked for them about a year ago... from what I remember - the company that made them is still in business, (from California as I recall), but not in the business of making those storage locker fenders anymore.... they are no longer commercially available... at least I haven't seen anyone or anywhere else that sells them...

I did have the link to the company, but lost that on the last reformat... sorry I couldn't be more help....

on edit : there is a thread here on this forum that has the company web site link, that's where I first found it. (not sure how you'd find it on a search tho' without the company name)

Hide-N-side is probably what you were seeing, unfortunately it is no longer made.

These guys made a similar box at one point, but I didn't see it listed on their site. You might give them a call. http://www.royaltruckbody.com/catalog.php

Pics of it: http://www.holidayrambler.com/holida...erytruck.html#

I can just wish you good luck besides that. I wonder why they don't seem to be made anymore?

Oh, here's the hide-n-side for the curious: http://www.pickuptruck.com/html/sema/hideside.html

Those are cool! I guess price/demand didn't match up in a profitable manner for the mfr. Too bad, they are awesome looking.
