F350
Hi Chris & All,
Looking forward to learning and sharing! I have a 81 F350 with 34,000. Cleveland 400 Big block. Old dully farm truck.
So the question is what to finally do with it? Sell it? If anyone is looking for a big block with low miles, let me know.
Or find a back bed (any ideas; not a step side) and make a Rapture version of an old F350
Would welcome any thoughts!
Best,
Larry

Welcome to FTE, the engine you have is not really considered a big block as Ford did not describe their engines that way. The 400 is a 335 series engine and as built is a bit of a pig, but a decent 4 barrel intake and moderate size carb will wake it up and improve fuel economy. On beds, because yours is a pre-1985, it has the Dana rear axle which is narrower track width than the Sterling 10.25" that was introduced in 1985. Be prepared for a bit on money on a bed and probably rear fenders.
