Remember some folks on here tow considerable weight with their Ex. Overall gear ratio is important to a safe/sane trip.

After all that you also removed the factory X Rear block and installed a factory f350 block.
So is the addition of the b code overload spring added to the X codes what makes them snow plow prep or something else?
Your tuck looks much better with the 35's. Looks like you could get 37's on it though.

You got most of that pretty much perfect.
Front X codes are the OEM factory springs for snow plow prepped F-250/350 pickups and they are the standard F-550 springs, the set is rated at 6000lbs. They are used for the snow plow trucks to counter the extra added weight of the plows. Like all OEM Ford front truck springs they are a 2 leaf pack, I added the top overload leaf to make them a taller, firmer three leaf pack.
I think I would need to do a little trimming to fit 37"s, but I'll stick to the 35"s as taller tires would only hurt my effective ratio which is currently pretty good for our typical usage, towing heavy.
These are my rear springs.

My front modded X codes, you can see where the tires rub at full lock.

This shot shows a stock B code at the top still with it's top overload leaf which can't be used on an EX. In the middle is a stock X code front pack. The bottom pack is one of my modded X codes with the B code top overload added to the bottom of the pack.

Thanks for the welcome Gigger. I'll be around. Got nothing better to do when you own a 6.0.
I understand about the tire sizing and gearing, I was more so making a note to myself regarding 37's fitting with this lift.

We3zs, that top overload spring looks like just a regular aal essentially. When you quote the rating of the X codes your referring to their combined weight I guess because from what I've seen in my research they are 3000lb each or close.

Umm, yeah....When you add a leaf to a spring pack it is in fact just like an add-a-leaf. (Just having some fun with ya! )
Yes, when I talk about springs I always give the combined weight ratings, here is a little chart that has been put together over time here at FTE to help folks compare some of the various OEM front springs available.

The following only applies to 4X4 EXs, the 2X4 rigs have coil springs up front. All EXs came from Ford with G code rear springs, the V-8 EXs all came with B (front B code is much different than rear B code, confused yet?) 4100lb, all V-10 EXs came with C code fronts at 4300lb and all PSD EXs had D codes at 4700lbs.
All the other codes discussed come from SuperDuty trucks (they came with springs that don't suck from Ford.)
Spring........Capacity.....Rate lbs/".....Max travel.....V-10 change.....PSD change
B (V-8)......4100lbs.......330 lb/".........5.02"...........-0.25".............-0.66"
C (V-10)....4300lbs.......350 lb/".........5.01".............0.00"............-0.37"
D (PSD).....4700lbs.......380 lb/".........5.14"...........+0.33".............0 .00"
S codes.....4000lbs.......370 lb/".........4.34"...........+1.22"............+0 .88"
T codes.....4400lbs.......390 lb/".........4.63"...........+1.42"............+1 .11"
U codes.....4800lbs.......410 lb/".........4.89"...........+1.60"............+1 .32"
V codes.....5200lbs.......430 lb/".........5.13"...........+1.77'............+1 .50"
W codes....5600lbs.......450 lb/".........5.34"...........+2.77'............+2 .52"
X codes.....6000lbs.......470 lb/".........5.54"...........+2.90"...........+2. 68"
W codes are from F-450s and X codes are from F-550s and other SD trucks with snow plow prep.

The above spring info has been gathered from posts here on FTE by "monsta" and "bruce1954".

Ok so I want to use all new springs, no used up junk. Where's the most affordable place to buy? I've seen some old posts referring to a specific ford dealer, can't remember who that was. Dealer may be my best option since I'm a ford employee and get 15% or 20%discount.

Can you direct me to the part numbers for the X codes and b codes?

I would call Junior at ATS springs and get a quote. I was pleasantly surprised and ordered them right up along with an adjustable track bar. I also ordered bilsteins for all fours and the steering stabilizer and a Hellwig rear sway bar from another place. ATS is a vendor on here.

The best Ford dealer pricing should be from White Bear Lake Ford (formerly Tousely Ford) in MN, not sure if they can apply your employee discount though. But I think they do give forum members here a little break, be sure to ask.
I don't have the part numbers handy here at work, they might be included in one of the spring swap threads up top in the Tech Folders (top of EX forum main page).
@ATS Junior is ATS's rep here on the forums and has helped out lots of folks here with exactly what the were looking for.

Well, after lurking around here for over a year mooching as much information as possible from all you fine people I finally did it! My excursion has been the faithful family hauler for a decade now and getting a little long in the tooth so I claimed it as my personal vehicle/toy.
2003 Eddie Bauer V10. Camped out in my buddy's shop for a week and installed an all spring 6” BDS lift kit w/ dual steering stabilizer. Also added some 17” XD Machete Wheels and 37x12.5 Toyo MTs. Still a work in progress but here are some pics thus far. Still have a long list of upgrades to knock out once my wallet recovers.

Thanks guys. So far I am super impressed with the BDS kit. From what I learned here I knew that the ride should improve with new springs, but actually feeling the difference first hand now is awesome. All the steering wander and sloppiness is gone and now I could cruise down the road with one finger guiding this monster.
That’s no joke about it being an addiction. I’ve barely had the tires/wheels on for a week and I’m already having lustful feelings for the next item (bumpers) on my list!
