Chafing P/S Return Hose

In the center of the attached photo, I found evidence of wearing on the low-side (return) hose for the power steering and brake-boost hydraulic fluid. For reference, the cream-color in the upper-left is the master cylinder reservoir.

It's routed pretty close to the pressure tubing that supplies the power steering box (it's rubbing), and is wearing through. Though it won't cause catastrophic failure on the low side, eventually I'll develop a leak and lose the "power" in power steering and power brakes.

I'll be replacing this hose anyway, as I want to re-route this line through a filter unit, but this is something you might want to take a look at on your own.

This might be a good place to add some of that wire-loom plastic stuff that Ford uses everywhere else, or at least a tie-wrap or two. ;-)))

Yup, your are right Pop. Just checked mine. Sure enough, the hose has a nice wear groove..cuz it lays right on top of the high-pressure pipe.. Easy fix though... thanks for the heads up....
